We offer Maximising the Impact of Teaching Assistants training and reviews to support schools with the effective deployment of their support staff.

We've been involved with producing leading international guidance on making the best use of teaching assistants and have recently completed the UK's largest trial on improving TA deployment and practice in a project funded by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF)

Sally Franklin

As a Senior Teaching Fellow at UCL, Institute of Education specialising in SEND, I have worked with hundreds of teachers and SENCOs to develop their practice. I have worked across the UK and internationally as part of the MITA team (www.maximisingtas.co.uk) to provide training and support to schools and organisations to re-think the deployment of their support staff as well as providing training to over a thousand TAs to improve their practice and support pupil independence.

In 2019, I was part of the team who won the 2019 British Educational Research Association's Public Engagement and Impact team award.

I have been a SENCo and class teacher and have worked with Local Authorities and schools across the UK and internationally to develop SEND policy and guidance.

Having worked in a previous life as a family lawyer, I also offer advice to parents of children with SEND and work with families, schools and LAs to support the development of EHCPs.
